ISK-SODEX 2006 has been held between the dates of 04-07 May 2006 at CNR Expo, İstanbul World Trade Center. Besides being the biggest trade fair of Eurasian Region, ISK-SODEX has also become 3rd biggest trade fair of its kind in the world.
Official opening of the exhibition has been done by the President of The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rıfat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Murat Yalçıntaş President of Chamber of Commerce of İstanbul, Tanıl Küçük President of Chamber of Industry of İstanbul , as representative of DOSİDER, İSKİD, İZODER AND TTMD Metin Duruk President of Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Manufacturers Association ISKID , Murat Demirtaş Chairman of the Board of Hannover-Messe Sodeks Fuarcılık A.Ş. , Mr. Wolfgang Wilhelm Lenarz Vice Chairman of Deutsche Messe AG have made speeches at the opening ceremony. And also, politicians, bureaucrats and directors were present at the opening ceremony.
735 direct exhibitors have exhibited their products and services on 49.058 sqm. of net display area covering 10 halls of CNR Expo Center. 1.324 firms in total have been represented at the fair. There were exhibitors from 38 countries including Turkey and the list by countries as below:

The most concrete indicator of the fair’s success is the increase in number of exhibitors. Number of direct exhibitors has been raised to 735 companies in 2006, which were 610 companies in 2004. In addition to this, number of direct international exhibitors is reached to 83, which were 43 in 2004.
ISK-SODEX 2006 trade fair, in which 1.324 companies from 38 countries has taken part, has been the meeting point of professionals, buyers and sellers on an international platform. Expectations of both exhibitors and visitors have been responded and new business links has been established at the fair. Exhibitors has been highlighted that the fair has been very successful and target of participation at the fair has been reached.

ISK-SODEX 2006 trade fair has been visited by 68754 local and 7230 international visitors. Number of visitors has reached to 73984 in total.
International and local visitors have reached to the fairground easily both from the city center and from the airport through the new constructed light rail line. Besides, free shuttles have been organized from central points of Istanbul to the fairground.
Visitors from 81 countries have attended ISK-SODEX 2006 trade fair. International visitors came from Albania, Algeria, Austria, Andorra, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Holland, Hungary, India, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Island, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldavia, Monaco, Morocco, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia and Montenegro, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sudan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, UAE, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA, Uzbekistan, Yemen.
Among the listed countries, there were visitors for the first time from Andorra, Armenia, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Ethiopia, Latvia, Ireland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Monaco, Oman, Pakistan, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Senegal, South Africa, Sudan and Yemen. The visitors from such different parts of the world show that ISK-SODEX 2006 has crucial importance for all HVAC & R market.

ISK-SODEX 2006 has been held at CNR Expo - İstanbul World Trade Center which is the biggest covered fair venue of Turkey. Thanks to its closeness to the midtown area and new constructed light rail line, visitors have had opportunity to visit the fair easily.
ISK-SODEX 2006 which has been held on 49.058 net area covering 10 halls is the biggest trade fair of Eurasian Region and the 3rd biggest trade fair of its subject in the world.

Marketing Activities |
Marketing activities (exhibitor and visitor promotions) of ISK-SODEX 2006 has been done on a very large geographical area from USA to China in one and half year period. The invitations which include information about the fair have been distributed in the following exhibitions; AquaTherm and ClimateWorld in Russia, Climatzacion in Spain, Romtherm in Romania, Climatherm and İnfacoma in Greece, IKK in Germany, Interclima in France, AHR Expo in USA, Heat-Vent in Ukraine, MCE in Italy, Big 5 in Dubai, China Refrigeration in China. Besides starting from the beginning of 2005 advertisements and press releases have been published in local languages in 18 sectorial trade magazines which have been circulated in Czech Republic, Greece, Bulgaria, Iran, Germany, Italy, England, Romania, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates and United States of America.
Invitations of the fair have been delivered to industrial zones, mechanical engineering, heating-refrigeration and air-conditioning branches of universities, chamber of architects, chamber of civil engineers and chamber of mechanical engineers nationwide.
Conclusion |
ISK-SODEX trade fair which has a tradition of breaking the records in numbers of the previous fair has renewed its success once more. Exhibitors have been satisfied with the fair and the services, established new business contacts and reached to the opportunity of integrating new markets.
Exhibitors have taken the fair into consideration as a fruitful investment and claimed that they will exhibit the next ISK-SODEX with bigger booth areas.
